The basic idea behind this project is to analyze illegal amphetamine and see if it can be detected in a fingerprint contaminated by Raman spectroscopy. Samples of amphetamine were obtained from the Iraq Narcotics Control Bureau. Samples of the narcotic powder were examined, as well as fingerprints contaminated with the same substance. The spectrum of the two samples does not show any difference and the amount of substance not an obstacle to the measurements. The spectrum of Raman s analysis of two forms has been reported in the region of 1050 cm-1 of the powder form and 1100 cm-1 of the trace of fingerprint form.
