"In this work, functionally gradient nanocomposites (FGPNC) were synthesized by using centrifugal technology at different times of rotation (1, 2, 4, and 6) min with a constant volume fraction of 2% Vf and a constant rotational speed (N = 1200 rpm). Three-point bending and impact tests were performed for investigating the mechanical properties of graded and non-graded nanocomposites. The test results showed that the addition of graded and non-graded nanoparticles enhanced the effect more than neat epoxy. The maximum difference in impact strength occurred when (FGPNC) loaded from the nano-alumina rich side where the maximum value being at 4 min of rotaintional time by 168% than the neat epoxy. The flexural strength and bending modulus of (FGPNC) were enhanced by (43.69%) and (52.82%), respectively, if it was loaded from the nano-alumina side, whereas when (FGPNC) was loaded from the side of neat epoxy, the decrease in flexural strength was (122.42%) while the improvement of the bending modulus was (81.215%) compared to the neat epoxy. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) revealed the gradient dispersion of nano- alumina particles in the epoxy matrix."
